Give me a a breather...and I take a vacation

I'm sorry folks, I have been neglecting the Blast GU11 Blog. I have been trying to catch up on my reading...and cooking. LOL! As much as I find going away and hangin' with other soccer moms liberating and enjoyable, when I come back, the laundry screams, the house screams, and I want to ignore it all! I'm so much better when I attack RIGHT AWAY. (Who do you know that needs to work on that???!!!)

So, we all know how the last tournament panned out. I will not offer words of wisdom, I will not offer criticisms, I only offer support and honest enthusiasm for the efforts these gals put out there. This is a new team that has had no experience together, and a coach (awesome as he is) that they may or may not be used to. Aside from all that...I see desire in these gals to succeed, and learn. They need our support and I for one, will give it when I can. Ok, ok...enough with my blathering...

I will try to post pix as I filter. Blogger is slow to upload so it takes forever to get pix up. I will try to (since we are in a break in games) go through and feature one player an entry. Now, that said, I have a few players I have fewer pictures of, and that's not because they weren't working, it's because they were on the opposite side of the field and I can't seem to get good shots. Tonight, I post the meetings. Tomorrow, I will work on the first player that pops up, no order, no favoritism so no hard feelings, ok?!!

The Spirit Van

Yes...the few, the dedicated...the SOCCER MOM! :) Tara was a little busy last night...can't wait to see the girls faces in the morning.

Wow! What an afternoon! (So many pictures.)

Ok, Get your HEAD IN THE GAME! Best header this season...you know who you are V!

I'm a picture taking fiend! I took 1033 pictures between the two games in the first day of the Flora-Bama Showcase. I obviously cannot post them all, so I will post my favorites from the second game, then go back and post random stuff. The two goal shots may not be the sharpest but I have to make sure they are there.

Over the next week, since we don't have games, I will try to go in and post a new batch every day so be patient with me. I also need to back-track to the first tournament so we can revisit. If you have shots that you would like to submit to the blog email them to me at tanya@temperedlight.com and I will post and credit photographer. (It's the law! LOL!) Full res is not necessary for the blog but will look better.

Ok, now...not every one is pictured here or in previous posts. Do not be discouraged. I haven't even posted pix of my own daughter...and of course I think when she throws it on she is the best (but that may just be a mama talkin'.) Everyone will be on here and I'm thinking feature posts...suggestions welcome.

Flora Bama Showcase - Day 1

Run-in of the day! And our little "Powerhouse" got up and kept going. Man this team has heart. I will post more pix hopefully tonight, but I had to get these up right away.

Our Gals

See them...they are standing/sitting still, not so tomorrow! Thanks to Ms. Tara for this great group shot. They will be blurs tomorrow and burning up the field with scores, passes, chops, fakes...oooooh I hope they surprise us with some goodies we haven't seen yet. Hey COACH, try to stay in your seat this time...we don't want YOU kicked out. Your doing a great job, we love ya even if you are a yank...GO GET EM STEVE!

Ok, I really will post more pix, I'm not at home we're camping out at the beach and frankly, I'm not thinking of blogging...really! Rest up gals, it's gonna be a long weekend. First Game - wear red bring white...and WATER/Gatorade and your game! Bring it on! (I mean that in the most POLITE way, really.)

See you in OB!

The first action shots (from the last game..I have a lot to catch up on!)

I have tons of pictures, I always do! This is just a small taste of what our gals are doing on the field that we miss...we cheer, we prod, we goad, but they are the ones out there striving to make us proud and win the day.

I think sometimes we don't appreciate just what they are dealing with until I look at these pictures. Every girl struggles to work the field, and follow instructions. Could we REALLY do better if we were out there? Make sure to think about that...encourage these girls, support them, they are playing hard and it's starting to show...they just didn't know how to work as a team in the beginning. NOW it's coming together. GO BLAST U11!

Next post...I'd like to introduce the gals so everyone knows names and can cheer and boost them up when they are playing hard. Hmmm...maybe even get comments where IS my assistant? LOL! Until next post...

Intro to U11 Gals of Heart...they just don't QUIT!

Ok, so my first post has nothing to do with soccer. It has to do with the relationships these gals are making within the structure of soccer. They are building friendships and bonds among peers...all competitive, all striving for acceptance and place. Why not support these bonds and get them away from t.v. and video games? Let's get them out there, sweating, working as a team, and building bonds that may carry them for years to come!

This is from the last tournament that was a first for some of our girls but they learned and worked together as a team and overcame losses to come out winners in the end. Did you see that last game in the Labor Day Tournament? They were beautiful, they were grace and my heart swelled with pride for every girl on that field as they gave every thing they had to prove to us as parents...your money was well spent. :) (Hey, I have to justify that extravagance somehow, and if it's with flying feet and 1000 pix, so be it!)

From one soccer mom to a team full of Dads and Moms and Coaches...find joy in the beauty of these gals giving everything in this HEAT!!! Until my next post, and I hope there will be many...as I have almost 1500 pix to go through still... we'll see you on the FIELD!
